The counterfeiting or forgery of currency or banknotes is of course punishable. This applies to Belgian coins and banknotes as well as to foreign ones. It is therefore just as punishable in Belgium to forge euros as it is to forge dollars. Not only counterfeiting, but also (attempted) acquisition, issue, import and export are punishable.
